The Journey Of A Thousand Miles....

Yeah. So. I decided my head is a REALLY bad place to keep all my thoughts, so I'm copying some friends(yes i have those) and starting a blog. If you stumble upon this rare find, and happen to think its interesting, i have no idea how reliable i'll be or how much I'm gonna use this, so check back whenever. Now, to the name. Redemption. What is it? Well Webster's dictionary defines redemption as : the act, process, or an instance of redeeming. And for those of you who don't know what 'redeeming' means (don't be ashamed, you can admit it) it simply means : serving to offset or compensate for a defect. And in the sense I'm thinking of, this redemption is to offset our sins. And oh boy! do we have a lot of them. Sometimes it can be overwhelming, because our adversary the Devil, Satan, Lucifer, whatever you wanna call him, he is pretty devious and pretty powerful. I mean, just look around you, and look at the hold he has on this world. Take the internet for example, it was created to share information, but satan has been using it for sin. You guys know what I'm talking about. Pornography dominates the internet and creates temptation at every turn. School, most kids think of it as torture, but it is actually a great opportunity if taken advantage of. But anyone who has been in High School knows that in those hallways can be some nasty gossip, language, jokes, and just plain Godlessness. And thats just two examples of the THOUSANDS we encounter in our day-to-day lives.
Our God is greater.

When we succumb to these ploys of the Devil, this temptation to stray from the path of righteousness, its when we take our eyes off of the living God. It says in John 16:33 "These things i have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take heart[take heart; be confident, certain]; I have overcome the world." Did you read that?! He has OVERCOME the world. And because of that we need not worry about ANYTHING satan can throw against us. I mean, no matter WHAT we do, no matter how stupid we act, no matter how many sins we commit. God. Is. There. Psalm 18:2 "The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my rock, in whom i take refuge; Me shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold." He will protect you. In all things. Whatever you do, God only asks that you come to Him, humbled, and ask for forgiveness. Not for your gain, but for His glory. What can we do but serve Him with all our lives?

Because of Him,
Samuel Smith
